Global Entrepreneurship Week Innovation Tournament Video Contest

Entrepreneurship is all about leveraging resources and taking action with the goal of creating value.

Your challenge is to use an assigned, everyday object to create as much "value" as possible. The mystery object will be revealed during the kickoff event on Nov 12. Students from around the world are invited to participate. Below are the details:

• Download the Innovation Tournament Official Rules.
• We will reveal the specific challenge on Wednesday, Nov 12.
• Students are encouraged to form teams to take on the challenge. Teams can be of any size.
• Teams should sign up for email updates so that they get important updates during the week.
• Teams have four days to complete the challenge.
• All submissions must be in video format, must be three minutes or less, and less than 100 MB. We have a YouTube Group for all of the submissions. For more information on uploading and submitting your video, explore these pages.
• Video submissions are due by Monday, Nov 17 at 9:00 AM, Pacific Time.
• Videos will be evaluated based on the content and creativity, not video production quality.
• All videos will be viewable by the general public.
• Local winners will be announced by your local host after Nov 18.
• Global winners will be announced online on Dec 5.

• Judges will review the videos, and the winning submissions will be announced and shown on Wednesday, Nov 19, during the Innovation Tournament Showcase at 4:30 PM in Kresge Auditorium.
• The winners will receive fabulous, one-of-a-kind prizes that have been donated by local entrepreneurs, venture capitalists, and others in the entrepreneurial community.
• Stanford students wishing to borrow video equipment from Meyer Library should familiarize themselves with the CAMS website, the StuCompWiki and plan accordingly.

• We hope that many other schools and organizations will choose to participate. If you are running a Tournament locally, please register here.
• Come to the Global Entrepreneurship Week web site on the evening of Nov 12, after 6:00 PM PST, to find out the specific challenge. We will also e-mail the challenge details to all those who have signed up in advance.
• Each participating organization is encouraged to design their own local tournament with judges and prizes. Each participating organization will set their own judging criteria.
• All submissions should be uploaded and added to our YouTube Group and submitted to the Tournament.

Remember, value comes from actually implementing your ideas; unexecuted ideas may be submitted but will likely not qualify as winners. To be successful, challenge assumptions, seize opportunities, and be creative!

Prizes for Local Winners
All prizes associated with the tournament are being given by the local organizations hosting a competition. They will determine local winners and give out prizes.

Recognition for Global Winners
On Friday, Dec 5, we will announce global winners on the home page and on the official website of Global Entrepreneurship Week. Winning videos will also be featured on these sites. There will be no global prizes.

Only Stanford students are eligible for prizes associated with the local Stanford competition. Do your best work, Stanford students, because we have quite a collection of awesome prizes, including some one-of-a-kind experiences!
